Here's the Last Melon... {LM Weekly Update}

Hi Reader,

My husband and I quote a lot of movies - dumb movies and great movies. Kid movies and classic movies. One of our most quoted? "The last melon" from Ice Age. The animals encounter a colony of Dodo birds prepping for the Ice Age. They have one female, who sadly meets her demise, and 3 watermelons to last them "underground for a billion, billion years." Pretty soon they're down to the last melon....and then no more melons (or Dodo birds for that matter).

So with that silly mindset, this will be the last "LM Weekly Update" of the year. I'll be back the second or third week of January and back to business as usual.

I always try to take a few weeks around the holidays - partly to celebrate those holidays with my family and not work, but also to really sit back, review, reset, and think ahead a bit for the next year.

I set a few goals and try to refigure a few things, but it's also just a fabulous chance for me to take a minute and catch my breath.

2024 was interesting on the LM front. My Seven Layer Bar recipe started trending; Beautycounter had some drama, but we found Crunchi makeup & skincare and I'm so in love; we got a new format for my weekly newsletter; and I got to start working with some truly fabulous (and sustainable) brands!

I won't bore you with the struggles, but I'm happy to say they were fewer this year than in recent years!! So here's to big things in 2025 - and of course happiness, inner peace, and.....WORLD PEACE (Miss Congeniality quote)!

Eating & Drinking

Homemade biscotti. I used to live on biscotti - ok, not entirely, but it was always in my freezer and always accompanied my coffee. I haven't made much in the last few years but constantly think about it. I recently made an amended cranberry orange biscotti - adding cinnamon and pecans (subbing dried cherries for cranberries because I had them to use up). These biscotti are living up to all my memories!

Wearing

Using
